Church of the Beatitudes & LaFlor, Nicaragua
Church of the Beatitudes of Phoenix, Arizona, is a vibrant, diverse, progressive community of faith who have partnered with a small, isolated Nicaraguan community called La Flor.
La Flor lies at the top of a mountain, and the only access is a ½-mile long, steep, rocky footpath. Beatitudes has hosted two delegations from Nicaragua, and worked with their partners to build a community center and a clean water system for the 57 families in LaFlor. They are also working to improve access to health care, and on establishing a community "general store."
