United Church of the Valley & Chacraseca, Nicaragua

UCV is a vital and growing progressive congregation in the Temecula Valley of Southern California.  The project focus of this partnership is music education for the children of Chacraseca, aimed at helping them reconnect with Nicaragua's rich tradition of folk music. 

Along with taking musical instruments to Chacraseca, and doing an annual

music camp and teacher training event, these partners provide the salary for a music teacher for the schools!  The long term vision of the Nicaraguan and Californian partners is to establish a small music school in Chacraseca that would provide music lessons (marimba, guitar, percussion, recorder) to the adults and children in the area.
