Building houses is the method but not the primary purpose of the work that Partridge Community Church and Santa Emilia are doing together in their partnership. 

The purpose behind each house they build together is the technical training of young people that takes place as part of it.  Together, they are working with Nicaragua’s Ministry of Education to get their building program certified as an official training site, so the young Nicaraguans they hire to build the homes can eventually get licensed to work as professional construction contractors.   In a country with 60-90% unemployment in the rural areas, being certified in a field is a critical advantage!
