LaFlor
LaFlor
Above Santa Emilia, atop one of the rainforest mountains, lies the
community of LaFlor. There, 55 families are trying to eke out a living with no electricity, no clean water, and no health or social services.

Santa Emilia
Santa Emilia is a coffee-growing community in the mountainous rain forest of the Department (state) of Matagalpa in central Nicaragua. The area includes, and is highly interdependent with, a 12,000 acre coffee farm by the same name — Santa Emilia. Nicaragua Partner City: Chacraseca
Chacraseca
Chacraseca is a 49-square mile farming community just east of Leon, near the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua. Most of the 8,000 residents of Chacraseca are subsistence farmers, averaging less than $2 per day per family in income. Life is lived constantly on the edge, but rather than despair the community has chosen to organize to work together to realize their dreams of a better life for all.
